Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

With the newly bought graphics card, I’ve started playing games which are recently released and i havnt played due to lower configuration. One of the games I’ve played recently is  Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. It is a action-adventure game. It also falls in the genre of “platformer” which stands for jumping from platforms. If you ever played or seen playing any PoP (short form of the game name ;) : you definitely know what it means. If not, PoP is mostly about finding your way through wall,  crack,  poll, deathtraps, water-fall and lot other things….

If you dont know yet, Prince can walk through walls….to a certain distance and then jump. Even after jump, if there is another wall, he can again run a bit. So, for two close walls he can go to the top. He can climb polls, swing on horizontal bars. As this particular game progresses, His brother, Malik begins to be a monster(Ratash) and he keeps trying to stop his brother and save him. With certain other problems, he finds help from Razia , who is a long lived princess. As game progresses , Razia keeps giving more power to prince starting from water to be freezed. Then reversing time, Jumping on enemies from distance. Finally she tell him to get a sword from a hidden city. After prince get that, she goes into that sword to help the prince. After this, final climb and fight begins. How it ends ? Well, its your turn to know yourself.

It was fun to play…but length was short. Fights were easy and there is a wired bug that a door wont open when it is supposed to. If you run into the problem, may ask me. The game is worth playing and got enough good rating by other players…and gaming sites. Trust me or trust them :P

Adding Gaming Muscle

Recently I’ve added some gaming muscle to my desktop. I like playing games and high end graphics cards are dream of almost all gamers. Last year i bought a full hd ( 1920×1080) display. After that, my last graphics card ( nvidia 7600) started acting like a built in GPU. No high end games were playable at good looking graphics and fps. So, I’ve started thinking about a new card. Finally few months ago, i have managed enough money buy new card. The card is ATI (which is AMD now) Shapphire 5850 HD. To power it up, i had to buy a Thermaltake  TR2 RX 550W PSU. I’m A Mac

Last year, 22/03/2010 I’ve bought a macbook. So “i’m a Mac” since then. Its been 11 months with the mac. I should admit its been a nice experience with my mac.

There is a say that Mac s are costly..well,they are. But you can be certain about what you have got is a good, tasted combination of software and hardware which wont fall apart and millions others are using same configuration came out of same factory as yours. All will have same problem if any is found. So, solution will be available easily. Every mac is shipped with ati/nvidia graphics chip which is far superior then other laptops intel HD crap. The design is … i dont think i should say much. See yourself.

A slim laptop like a mac is never cheap in the market. Yet it has 10 hours ( 7hr for mine , since its the late 2009 model) is not found on cheap 50K laptops of other brands which has equal performance as mac hardware. A cute keyboard and glass multitouch trackpad is unlike anything on other brands in measure of size and responsiveness. the two-three-four finger gestures are so easy to do and useful, you will miss it in any other laptop you use after using mac for a few days. Though three and four fingers can be used on other brands through software, in those tiny pads and error prone behave might make you turn them off immediately.

Virus is not an issue with mac. And about OS stability, in last 11 months, it got hang once due to flash and the shipped OS is still as responsive as the first day with no OS reinstall. Most application setup are as easy as drag and drop. Few think there s not much software we need for mac. It is so false. You have almost everything on mac as on windows. I shall write about a post on mac software. And yes, most mac software has cracked release as of windows that you might test it before you buy ( or use as it is :P ).

There are so many tiny details you might love about mac. Hope to write about them soon. In a word , I am so happy with my macbook.

Okay, its like another start

Last post was more then 2 years ago….i think, now its time to post a few more annoying posts…..

Well, nothing Huge happened in this two years….everything is going okay if not perfectly. I am as happy as i was. And i guess i have not changed in this time at all. Though few of my gadgets did. I have got a macbook (late 2009, 2.26MHz C2D, 2GB DDR3, 7Hours battery backup and it is white with a glowing apple logo on the back of the lid ) , bought long desired ATI Sapphire 5850 HD with a 550W TT TR2 RX PSU. Which perfectly matched with my 1920×1080 ASUS VH226H. And a few home appliance like Rice Cooker :P . Oh, and a WD 1TB Caviar Black HDD. Life’s getting updated i guess…

I am gonna post ( atleast shall try to ) regularly now. Let’s see how it goes.

Things, keep me alive

First one, MY COMPUTER .

It’s my better half…till :D . I think i have to write down, what she got..

Processor : C2D E6400, 2 MB L2, 2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz.

Motherboard : Intel® Desktop Board DG965RY.

RAM : 2 x DDR2 1GB PC2-6400 800MHz = 2 GB.

Harddisk : SATA, 250 GB + 320 GB.

Graphics Card : XFX 7600 GS PCIe, 265 MB.

Optical Drive : Sony DVD Writer.

Monitor : Samsung 551s (my mate since 2002)

Speaker : Creative inspire 2.1 (since 2002 )

well, she is 2 years old. still young … to me :)

Second one, MY PHONE.

There are 3 .. though, one is almost dead. Which one i love most is, a nokia 5700 XpressMusic.

It is a symbian 9.2 phone with 64 MB ram and a 369 MHz processor . :) I’hv got a mate for this phone. A nokia BH503 Headphone . Another thing, i really love.

The other two phones are, nokia 1650 and simens c55.

Third , BOOKS (not those, related to my study).

I really love books. A lot of books I’ve read. and will..till death :)

the books i love most will be another post..please wait for that.

Fourth , Coffee :D with “coffee mate” . There is a reason , why i like it too much..it is the only thing i can make myself where i live :) .

Fifth, SLEEP.. nothing much to write about it….if i try, i have to go to bed keeping this post unfinished.

There are a lot more to write…. well, these are TOP 5.

First Vote

It was Monday, December 29, 2008. Our national election . This time i was a voter for first time. As i am going to vote for the first time, I had to make sure, i am not going to vote for any wrong candidate. There were two main parties actually….”4 dol” and “mohajot” . I just hate “4 dol” for their support to “war criminals” . So, i would never vote for them. so, only one other choice left. “mohajot”. But they nominated famous “Ershad” for our place. How could i vote for Ershad ? Dont ask me..what he did. If you are form Bangladesh, i must not introduce him. If you are not, just remember he is a national shame.

Now what…? What should i do? Not giving my vote? No, i must say my opinion. or else, i have to mentally suffer to let one of these two to be our leader. Thanks “Election Commission” to introduce a new candidate for us, the great “None of Above” :D I went for it, without any hesitation. As, everyone has 1 vote, and this 1 vote makes a leader, i had choose “None of Above”. and i am really happy with this. :)

There is a little problem with this “none of above” . In an area, people have to vote “more than half” to make a reelection. That seems a bit wired to me…here is why, if 40% vote for “none” , 35% vote for “MR. X” and 25% for “MR. Y”, “MR. X” will be elected. That s not fair

However… “mohajot” got huge success. may be, because , they could make people think , they are less “worse”. They have got enough seat on parliament to do almost anything. Hope they wont use this much power only to make them rich, they will have a think for the people elected them for their better life….

Programming Contest

I am a CSE student of Rajshshi University. At the time of this post, i am in 2nd year. This year i had my first national programming contest. Not only one….there were three :) . Actually i was not prepared for contest. 5 days before the contest, one of our elder brother of Masters, Ashraf vaia, called me on phone and asked, have i any problem to go on a national contest or not…i told…i am not much prepared. He told, that s not a problem…as it would my first ever contest, i then said, Yes :D . With another classmate, i went to Department, submitted details and photos and got registered for contest. It was ” National Computer Programing Contest 2008″ hosted by “University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh” in short, ULABNCPC 2008. October 16-17,2008 was the date.

We were Two Teams from Rajshshi University. First one was ” RU_Kernel ” ,team of seniors, and we, ” RU_Infinity”, junior team. We heard , there was another contest on next friday, at BUET. Our coach told us, if we can do well, we, the junior team would participate on that contest. But we ware afraid of doing worse, getting nil .

But at the end of contest, we found, we have done surprisingly well (for a new comer) . we got 24th place :D , even that was better than the senior team.

And we got registered for the BUET CSEDAY NCPC too :D

Result was not so good. We got 36TH place. Still, have not got nill, solved one :D

Then comes the 3rd an final contest. ACM-ICPC-2008,Dhaka site. It was just 14 days after the Buet cse day contest. A change had been made in teams. I had been included the senior team “RU_Kernel” as a replacement of a team member.

I am not a good writer. So hopefully this was a boring post. I am new…so, let me be old enough to write good :)

Welcome all n me

I am Mahdee. I am someone around you :) . May you have noticed me..most likely not. Even i have not seen me either (except mirror :p ). Here i am to write something about me and my views, things what i know, what i want to know.  I will ask for help and ..will offer or expect asking for help about what i am good at (nothing, i know).. almost everything a blogger should do… Since i am new to this concept…i will try to follow the convention.
